Stains on the gums
Gums can sometimes be discoloured for various reasons.
Let us explain some of them. Intense red. This colour is usually related to a clear bacterial gingivitis, with frequent bleeding.
Colour change in papillae from black to whitish. This colour is related to ulcerative necrotic gingivitis causing severe pain and bleeding. It could be related to an ulcer or canker sore caused by a tooth or denture rubbing.
